Case Study: O-1 Extraordinary Ability Visa

Station Films, a New York and Los Angeles based commercial production company, wanted to hire Italian director Luca Maroni to direct a number of commercials. Station Films was able to successfully petition for Mr. Maroni to obtain an O-1 Visa as an alien with “extraordinary ability in the arts.” To obtain anO-1 visa it is necessary to show national or international acclaim, the ability to command a high salary and proof the relevant labor union does not object to the Visa.
